Intern - Product Management - Summer 2019

The Role:

Xylem seeks to hire a Product Management Intern to join its Residential and Commercial Building Services team for summer 2019. The residential market is something that is core to Xylem and a market that the Goulds Water Technology brand has served for more than 160 years. Key applications include bringing potable water to the home, by means of an individual private well and removing unwanted water from the home, whether it means helping to prevent a flooded basement or transporting wastewater to the municipal sewage line. The company s commercial product portfolio is served through the industry leading Bell & Gossett brand with over 100 years in the market. Products and systems help meet the modern requirements of reliable and energy efficient HVAC, water and wastewater handling in any type of building.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to succeed in a fast paced, fluid environment, while ensuring that project initiatives are met. If you are excited and passionate to work in a digitally progressive and data-focused marketing team, we want to hear from you!

You will be assigned specific projects which are designed to add value to the organization while providing real world experience. While receiving mentoring and guidance, working with the Product Management team members on the growth initiatives.

These initiatives could include:

  • Competitive product and market research for the Residential Water, Wastewater and HVAC products, including support to advance IoT solutions as well as working with our engineering and sales team to analyze market size and opportunities.
  • Conduct new product development voice of customer (VOC) activities to more closely understand specific customer decision makers and their needs and pain points, with the intent to achieve growth of Xylem products and services (this could include interviewing experts and conducting desk research).
  • Help develop new collaborative training tools and transform literature to provide solutions with digital interconnectivity.

We want someone who:

  • Is attending an accredited University studying toward a Bachelors in Engineering/Business
  • Minimum rising junior in standing
  • Minimum GPA of 3. 0
  • Has a strong sense of ownership and drive, a self-starter
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills, and is comfortable with engaging others and asking questions
  • Has good technical and organizational skills
  • Has the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • An understanding of marketing technology or digital asset management is a plus
  • An understanding of pumping and water systems with a passion for solving water issues is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Contributions you will make to Xylem:

  • Assist the Product Management Teams
  • Support product development processes and enhance solutions
  • Other tasks as assigned

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
