8714BR Job Description Position:   Director of Quality - Seneca Falls Operations Salary:   Confidential salary+ performance bonuses Travel:   Less than 25%.   Occasional travel to customers and suppliers as needed, mostly regional day trips Manages Others: Yes, position has 4 direct reports and 24 total indirect reports   Relocation:   Relocation packages available Education:   Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred (BSME or technical degree is preferred).   Will consider candidates with equivalent experience Experience:   Director of Quality General Summary: This position provides overall management of the SFO Quality functions including Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Warranty Services.   Responsibilities include:    Ensure the application of quality tools in the relentless pursuit of the elimination of internal and supplier product and process non-conformance and maintaining SFO's quality system to ensure continuation of ISO certification    Utilizing data from various sources (customer complaints, internal S&R, warranty requests, warranty costs, systems audits) work integrally with the operations to identify and implement product and process improvement opportunities which result in sustained reduction in scrap, rework and warranty costs.   Work closely with operations and suppliers to ensure improvement opportunities are understood, investigated and effectively implemented.    Communicate directly with operating unit management and staff,coworkers, suppliers and bargaining unit employees.   Communications take the form of written correspondence as well as face to face meetings and presentations to both internal and to external customers.    Apply technical knowledge to identify and recommend quality and process improvement opportunities.   Work directly with internal operations, suppliers, and Global Supply Chain to develop robust process capability.    Identify and provide learning and development opportunities for all members of SF's quality organization while developing broad decision making competence in them,    Participate in and lead Lean and Value Based Six Sigma activities and efforts in support of IP's mission, vision & values and Quality Policy    Maintain the quality system audit process. Liaison with ISO registrars. Supervise the management and delivery of inspection and test documentation.   Director of Quality Responsibilities:      All Seneca Falls Operations(Foundry, ANSI, Shop #2, EPO) and Front End processes will report into this position.    Create strategic direction for Industrial Process quality trade and compliance organizations.    Create, Initiate and manage supplier quality review processes.   Drive improvement in incoming quality at a 10x rate.    Define and develop a customer response team with strategic alignment between the team members and high value customers.    Responsible for efficient utilization of financial and human resources to assure SF's Quality Departments operate within defined budgets.    Responsible for efficient Quality systems for SFO customers, and a concurrent effort to minimize future warranty claims via an active corrective action process by driving implementation to the shop floor.      Success will be measured by improvement in both incoming part quality and outgoing productquality. Ensure all SFO customer order specific procedures, inspection and test documentation is provided.   Timely, accurate delivery assists in timely receipt of payments from customers.    Maintain ISO Registration for SFO.    Facilitate and provide quality system support.   Maintenance of ISO certification provides Sales and Marketing leverage and is a requirement for participating in some projects    Develop and mentor quality department staff in use and application of quality skills including process control, data based decision making, VBLSS, weld process competence,NDE, RCCA, FMEA, quality plans, etc Skills and Experience Director of Quality Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred . (BSME preferred) or equivalent experience. Experience: Minimum seven (7) years experience in the Quality Assurance management field.   Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment is required; supervisory experience required; experience in inspection and test documentation helpful.   Knowledge of U.S. and International regulations as relate to product quality compliance and able to apply technical knowledge of regulations to complex business transactions is preferred - such as PPAP, ITAR, APQP, etc. Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience:        Demonstrated competence in implementing and maintaining formal process control methodology        Experience with supplier development        Excellent verbal and written communication skills        Excellent organization skills        Excellent problem solving , analytical, organization and budgeting skills        SFO Product Knowledge desired        Knowledge of the corrective action process        Ability to influence others not under direct supervision.          ISO Quality Management Systems and Auditing.          Business, foundry, manufacturing and warehousing processes.        Lean and   Value Based Six
